Carly Goldstein is a photographer based in New York. Her work explores memory, family, and place, focusing on how identity is shaped through everyday environments and inherited experiences. She is drawn to traces of the people who came before her, returning to familiar spaces to explore how memory is formed, preserved, and passed down over time. Rooted in observation and personal history, her work considers how memory lives on in people, objects, and environments, and shared traditions.
She holds a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archives from Pratt Institute School of Information. Her background in archives informs her photographic practice, shaping her interest in preservation and documentation.
